Well, day 2 of the 2008 Republican National has come to a close, and I think there was some good and bad things that came out of it.
The bad parts obviously had to do with the riots and protests going on outside. Police used tear gas on the crowds and there was a lot of confusion. I am not sure who I agree with more, but I think that both sides need to come to an understanding that peaceful protests are fine, as long as they are not a threat or disturbance to the people trying to live throughout the area.
I think the highlight of the night was definitely Fred Thompson's. Now, I had a general idea of what John McCain's P.O.W. experience was like, but to here it the way that Fred said it really illustrated what the man went through. With that came humor and punches thrown. It really got the crowd going, both at Xcel and at my house!
Tomorrow is going to be the big ticket in terms of big names. Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, and Sarah Palin will all be speaking. Since I, like most of the country, don't know a lot about the VP nominee, I look forward to hearing what she wants to say. Talk to you all tomorrow!

The Race is on!
Well, now that the Republicans are in St. Paul, it seems like a good time for me to be updating this blog.
I have watched most of the speeches from the DNC, and was quite impressed with a few of them. I think Bill Clinton made a very good speech. He got the crowd going and did what he needed to do that night. I also think that Hillary gave a speech that fit her role. I have not watched Obama's speech yet, but I look forward to watching it tonight.
John McCain picked Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential running mate, and I have been given mixed reviews from people. I believe this was a very strong pick for many reasons, and, if I am honest, one of them is that she is a woman. If you look at this as a strictly political points game, she will probably be able to bring in much of the female vote, but we shall see.
Just wanted to add a quick note here and I hope I will keep blogging now that we are getting down to the fun part of the race. Let me know what you think or what topic I should talk about!
