The disgrace known as "The View"

Well, I made this blog for when I felt like venting, so here we go.

On Wednesday, Glenn Beck was on "The View". In the first segment, he was repeatedly called a liar and was screamed at for 7 minutes. His audacious lie? He forgot who said hello first on a train ride: Him or "Baba Wawa" (aka Barbara Walters). So for 7 minutes, Barbara and Whoopi yelled and belittled Glenn and called him a liar. They even asked him why he did not check his facts (even though he did, and had they, they would have known he corrected himself later on the SAME show).

The whole conversation was one of the most ridiculous and petty arguments I have ever seen. I knew there would be yelling and frustration involved, but I figured it would be on substance (after all, it was Hot Topics week). The fact that all they could talk about for 7 minutes was who said hi first on the train is disgusting. I am fine with people having their own opinions on topics, but can't we act our age or at least respect the guest on your show?

We have become a society in which we seek a reason to be offended, and once we feel offended, we act as if we can not be wrong on the topic at hand. Barbara and Whoopi should be ashamed of themselves for how they acted on Wednesday. I would say the same to Joy Behar, but I think if I talk about her enough, I will go insane.

Once the first segment was done, they got into some topics, which I then was fine with the arguing. At least they were discussing topics. It was interesting to note that once they actually discussed topics (and still disagreed at the same level as before), Glenn was not called a liar. So he is a liar when he mistakenly forgets a miniscule point that does not matter, but when he disagrees, he is not a liar, he is just mistaken. I don't get it either, but whatever.

Anyways, I vented, I feel a little better, but not much. Hopefully someday, we can all debate with each other and not be considered the devil just because we disagree.

LIAR!!!!!
